Boy, I'm glad I started my new year resolution last year. No list of high intentions here; I'm already a month in my appointment shaped plan.
January, of course, is the equivalent of physical fitness days "of glory. Everybody decided they were just too sloppy in the previous year; when the gym opened after the New Year holiday, the parking lots are full predictable. In February and March certainly, they began to thin out; exercise is a resolution of people tend to break systematically note Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project .
But I plan for my Honda Odyssey to continue making the trek. In December, this mother of three who estimated that cleaning up after meals is infinitely easier if I just eat the remains of my children have succumbed to a field: get a head start on 2012 resolutions by launching a abs-crunching, metabolism firing NOW training camp.
Did I mention the introduction rate was $ 99 for 16 classes? It seemed a small price to pay for better health. Also, I felt pretty proud of myself for being ahead of the game in my beginning-of-the-year-fitness-flush. During the past month, I discovered muscles I never knew I had. And under the baby fat that hangs around as a reminder not so sweet of my pregnancies, I swear I can see the beginnings of a six-pack. (I will continue chronicling my journey here on Healthland every other Friday; please share your own adventures exercise - good and bad - in the comments section.)

One day this week, I decided to send my husband for me. My benevolence was real part, self-centered part: that the demands of family and work, none of us has spent a lot of time working on. early morning boot camp schedule niche was all I needed to start my day. I thought I'd share the love.
But I'm also curious: was 45 minutes class really challenging circuit-training, or I think it was? Verdict: it's hard. We commiserate about the impossibility of "V-ups" - coated with flat legs and arms raised over your head, contract your abs so that your legs and arms raised in a "V." Now do it for 60 seconds. Ugh.
I also made a friend - Evelyn, my boot camp buddy. It is cliché to say that friends are many aspects of life more bearable, but it is true, and exercise is no exception. We talk about literature and travel weekends when we are not out of breath. We team when pairs are needed, and she always chooses the heavyweights, leaving the lighter for me. See why I love

She is the one who m 'sent this Wall Street Journal article a tongue-in-cheek take on the rules of the gym. While Log Jason Gay noted that "sweating is a good way to start 2012" also highlights that: "No one in the history of gyms has never lost a pound in reading "the New Yorker" and slowly pedaling a recumbent bike. Nobody. "
This might explain why I never got into shape. Although, frankly, this boot camp-regime did not melt the books either. I had pretty much avoided carbohydrates until last week, when my son requested a chocolate cake with caramel icing for her birthday. He was a very good cake, and when I came across Thursday reflects both my weight. 1 lb since I had lost was returned.
Back to training camp. And for both resolutions.
